
Amravati Cycling Association recently organised BRM 600KM Ride in Randonnier Series. In this series event 9 riders from Amravati completed the 200, 300, 400 and 600 kms of cycle rides and won the title of Super Randonnier. The Super Randonneur (SR) title is earned by any rider who completes the Super Series of brevets in stipulated time given (200 km, 300 km, 400 km and 600 km) within the same calendar year (Nov-Oct). Lalit Baheti, Rajubhau Mahajan, Laxmikant Khandagale, Raju Dhote, Anjali Deshmukh, Shalini Sewani, Archana Mange, Vijay Dhurve and Prashant Aghav are cyclists the cyclist who completed this seasons SR series.

Also it’s a proud moment for ACA to state that Anjali Deshmukh is the first lady from Amravati to earn the SR title twice in consecutive series.
A total of 21 cyclists from Amravati, Nagpur and Washim districts have participated in this series. The 600 km journey was to be completed in 40 hours. The challenge started from Amravati Dist stadium and flagged off by Mr. Avinash Kothale, President, Jijau Commercial Co-op. Bank and Dr. Abhijit Deshmukh. A large number of members of Amravati Cycling Association were present to give encouragement on this occasion. Route of this adventurous ride was from Amravati to Daryapur, Akot, Shegaon, Khamgaon, Chikhli, Deulgaon Raja, Sindkhed Raja to Jijau Srishti, the birth place of Jijau and the same route back to Amravati.
This cycle ride was concluded at Dist stadium. Mr. Sanjay Mendse and Mr. Abhijit Sakharkar were principle organiser for this ride. All the other members of Amravati Cycling Association contributed for the success of this event.
In all, 21 riders participated in this BRM 600 ride. Among them Lalit Baheti, Rajubhau Mahajan, Laxmikant Khandagale, Raju Dhote, Anjali Deshmukh, Shalini Sewani, Juhi Raheenwala, Keshav Nikam, Archana Mange, Devanand Bhoje, Vijay Dhurve, Prashant Aghav, Santosh Kakade, Atul Kalamkar, these 15 riders which include 4 women’s have completed the ride in given time. All these riders were felicitated at the hands of Dr. C.N. Kulkarni, President ACA along with other cyclist members with the sound of drums and firecrackers.
